Derek Taylor and I used to think we may possibly hold the record in having the longest continuous period of time on different ships together. This being three and a quarter years in total, nearly always on the same watch and always indulging in after watch beers together. He returned from the coast on "Chindwara" (3/O & 5/E/O); we both stood by "Queda" and sailed together (3/O & 4/E/O); "Ellenga" for a year (2/O & 3/E/O) and finally again on "Ellora" (2/O & 3/E/O). He was originally from Montrose but I understood he left and emigrated to New Zealand shortly afterwards to work in a Power Station there. I'd like to hear if anyone has any further news of him as we lost touch after that.

A bit blurred unfortunately but you can just make out
Percy Harvey (C/O), Norman Burnett (4/EO) and Unrecalled

Clyde Ambrose (2/O) and Unrecalled Cadet

They were both ex BI and took over the "Ellenga" from BI into Trident Tankers in August 1963. They both stayed in Trident, I sailed with them for a handover period as X/2/O for nine months.
